Michigan

I was born and raised outside of Grand Rapids, MI. Growing up, I loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing.  I never had an interest in hunting even though my dad and brother hunted my whole life. That all changed when I met my husband!  He was insistent that we try turkey hunting together for the first time. At that point, I had never even held a gun let alone shot one!  The first morning we called in a big tom and I made a successful 40 yard shot. I have been hooked ever since!  My husband saw my love for turkey hunting and decided to take it to the next level and bought me a Matthews Passion bow for Christmas. I have been practicing and fine tuning my skills ever since. This past year was the first time I have had the opportunity to get a shot at a mature buck during archery season, but unfortunately, I missed. I learned that you live through your mistakes and it's better to grow from them rather than to let them bring you down.

Since I started my outdoors journey, I have had many successful turkey hunts, harvested several deer during gun season and had the opportunity to start predator hunting last year. Predator hunting was something new and exciting and once I went, it instantly became one of my favorite types of hunting! It is physically challenging and tests your patience, but it is so rewarding!  Time in the woods means time with my husband and kids, which I cherish.  I also love traveling to other states to hunt as its always an adventure!

When I am not in the woods, you can find me working full time as a sales rep for the beauty industry, working out and being a mom to my two amazing kids. I am passing my love for the outdoors down to them and seeing the excitement through their eyes brings a whole new level of excitement to my hunts.

My inspiration to not only be a better hunter, but also a better person comes from my husband. He has shown me to never give up, no matter what the circumstance and always be my best. He has been my driving force and his love and encouragement makes me the hunter I am today!  I have been fortunate in the last 7 years to harvest many animals, travel and become knowledgeable on conservation and its importance.  I am very excited to pass on my knowledge and experiences to other like-minded woman over the coming year!
