Recipe: My Favorite Cheesy Wild Game Pasta

I'm so excited to be sharing one of my favorite recipes with you! The best part about this recipe is that anyone can make it even if there isn't wild game easily available. Not only is it an inclusive recipe, but it is also extremely easy to make.

We normally make ours with ground buffalo or ground venison and it is irresistible either way!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Ib Ground Wild Game

  • 1 small can of tomato sauce

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1/2 yellow onion

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • Pepper to taste

  • Shredded Colby-Jack Cheese

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • Dash of cumin

  • Garlic Salt to taste

  • Dash of oregano

How to:

  1. Sauté diced onion in olive oil for approximately 10 minutes

  2. Add garlic cloves and continue to sauté for about 1 minute

  3. Add ground wild game, break it down, add pepper and garlic salt to taste

  4. Cover and mixture and let the meat brown until the meat becomes a golden brown color for flavor

  5. Once the meat is brown, add tomato paste and mix it into the mixture

  6. Add small can of tomato sauce then fill half of the can with water and add to the mixture

  7. Add cumin and crushed oregano and cover

  8. Let mixture simmer on low heat while boiling water for the pasta

  9. Add dash of salt to the water to give the pasta flavor

  10. Follow directions on the pasta package in order to properly cook the pasta

  11. Once the pasta is cooked, add a 1/4 cup of pasta water to the meat mixture and drain the pasta

  12. Once the pasta is drained, add the meat mixture to the pasta and mix well

  13. Add shredded cheese to your liking

I hope you are able to enjoy this simple and delicious recipe!
